I’m so glad you’re here!
It tells me you care deeply about supporting your child with maths throughout primary school.
And secretly, your child is glad too. Because you being here means that when you sit beside them - for homework or for those everyday maths moments - you’ll be speaking the same language, understanding the same methods, and helping in a way that truly builds their confidence.
A mum of two boys, both grown and flown.
A grandma ('G') to one.
Born and bred in NW NSW and now live by the beach (although I'll always be a country girl!).
Taught in both small and large primary schools.
32 years in classrooms.
I spent years teaching full‑time while raising my boys, which means I understand the pressures on working parents and the challenges teachers face in the classroom. I also know what teachers hope parents understand - and what a difference it makes when they do.
For too long, maths has been written about, debated, re‑written and re‑packaged - mostly because journalists need a headline and politicians need to look like they’re listening.
The story is always the same: doom, gloom, crisis, ‘solution’. It makes great headlines, but it doesn’t help families.
Teachers are exhausted by the never‑ending stream of ‘solutions’ and shifting expectations, and you, the parent, are left out of the loop entirely.
It doesn’t have to stay this way. Let’s change that.
I designed and launched MathsBites with a passion for making maths feel human again - clear, calm, and genuinely achievable for families.
I’ve seen firsthand what parents are up against. You want to support your child, but the language, the methods, the expectations … they keep moving.
And no one stops to explain it to you.
MathsBites exists to bridge that gap.
To bring parents back into the conversation. To give you the clarity teachers wish every family had ... and the confidence your child needs you to feel.
Because when parents feel confident, kids feel supported ... and that's where the magic happens.
